Progress Through Play

Philosophy

Progress Through Play believes that a child is a child first.  We believe that labels are often unhelpful in determining what makes a child tick.  We believe that behavior is communication.

In our work, we put a premium on understanding each child's sensory-motor profile and we respect and seek to understand and foster the intentionality of each child. We believe that by respecting a child's individual differences we set the foundation for a trusting relationship through which the child will be enticed to "join" the world and learn to relate, engage, and communicate less rigidly and more flexibly.

Our work is informed by the developmental, individual differences, relationship-based model (DIR) of Stanley Greenspan.
